(CNN) - United States-backed Syrian Democratic Forces said in a press release Sunday that two American ISIS fighters have been captured in Syria.

The men have been identified as Warren Christopher Clark, originally from Houston, Texas and Zaid Abed al-Hamid. The statement did not provide details on al-Hamid’s background except to say he was from the United States.

The SDF say the American men were captured in a group that also contained fighters from Ireland and Pakistan.

The Pentagon says that it is unable to confirm the information, however, adding that they will investigate.
