ROME (CNN) - The company behind Russia Today (RT) America was forced to register as a foreign agent last month.

This week, its journalists' congressional credentials were revoked.

On Friday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called the move uncivilized and threatened to impose similar measures against journalists working in Russia.

“Now we are analyzing that situation that occurred with the TV, Russia Today. We believe that it’s an unworthy gesture of a civilized country. I cannot say what our response will be but we would like to unleash a reciprocal course of actions,” Lavrov said.
