A Region 8 mother is concerned for her family after she found a drone flying around her yard.
Tammy Fisher said she walked outside her home the other day and heard a buzzing noise overhead.
When Fisher looked up, she saw a drone flying above her neighbor’s house.
However, this was not the first time the drone was seen in the neighborhood.
Fisher’s children told her the drone was in their backyard last week while they were playing and was seen again in the front yard near the windows.
Fisher said she does not know who is flying the drone, which makes her even more concerned.
"It kind of worries me with small children why someone would be hovering a drone in my backyard watching my children and that really worries me,” Fisher said.
Drones have become a popular toy over the years and were some of the first toys to sell out during Black Friday this past year.
Since the popularity, the Federal Aviation Association, or FAA, requires owners to register their drone.
However, besides the registration, there are not many restrictions for recreational drones except around airports.
The FAA suggests owners not fly drones near people and keep the drone in sight when flying it.
Fisher wishes there were stricter regulations on drones she could feel like she has privacy in her home and yard.
