Crimson Champions!

Crimson Champions!

(WAFF) -

Alabama football fans are celebrating their fourth national title in seven years this morning! Trent Butler here. This morning, Scott Theisen is in Arizona to show us how the Tide outscored Clemson to claim its 16th national title.

As soon as the game ended in Arizona, many Alabama fans rushed out to grab their national championship shirts, hats and other gear. We'll show you how Tide fans rolled into stores here in the Valley.

We're also focusing on a lot of political news this morning. Alabama Republicans are asking for Mike Hubbard to suspend his role as Speaker of the House until his ethics trial concludes. Yet, the trial doesn't start until the end of March and Hubbard calls this request ill advised and premature.

President Obama is getting ready for his final State of the Union address. He's expected to focus on stronger gun laws and the fight against terror. You'll probably need an extra cup of coffee this morning if you stayed up late to watch the Bama-Clemson game. We'll help you wake up on this Tuesday morning on WAFF 48 News Today!
