LSU's Fournette says Heisman poses are history

Leonard Fournette's freshman season got off to a slow start. But after being held to just 18 yards rushing in a season opening win against Wisconsin, Fournette burst into the end zone for a short touchdown run against FCS member Sam Houston State in Tiger Stadium.

Then he struck a Heisman pose, which was clearly a bad idea.

"Man, it was my first collegiate touchdown. I was excited about it," Fournette said. "I was in the moment. Childish for it, selfish. Suppose to celebrate with my team."

When Fournette returned to the LSU sideline, he immediately caught head coach Les Miles' glare and ire.

"We have to talk!," Miles declared to his young back. Shortly after that, Fournette found himself apologizing to the team for the stunt.

Before the end of the season, the bruising runner had found his stride and become a legitimate Heisman Trophy contender for the 2015 season. But don't worry, there will be no similar celebrations in the future.

"You will not see another Heisman pose from Leonard Fournette again," Fournette said adamantly.

Even if he wins the award?

"If it happens. But I'm so focused on the SEC Championship and my team right now."

Fournette finished 2014 with 1,034 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns.
