HOOVER, AL (WAFB) -

Alabama head football coach Nick Saban is known for his relentless work ethic and competitive drive. But is the coach mellowing some, as he enters his ninth year with the Crimson Tide? Well, yes and no.

"I think it's important that you learn to create balance," Saban said Wednesday at SEC Media Days, "But I still love what I do. I still love being involved in every aspect of what we do. I'm not away from what I do, any more than I've ever been. I just think the time that I'm away, I manage better. I relax more. Used to be, I'd go on vacation and all I did was work. Now, sometimes I go on vacation and don't work all the time."

Saban owns an 86-17 overall record as Alabama's head coach and a 53-11 mark in the SEC. He's won three national and SEC championships with the Crimson Tide.
