(CNN) - For the NFL, 2014 may have been a tough year scandal-wise.

But it was a great year for the league's bottom line.

Team marketing report says attendance was up 2 percent at NFL stadiums in 2014, while ticket prices rose 3.5 percent.

TV ratings remain strong, and NBC is charging $4.5 million for a 30-second ad during Super Bowl XLIX.

The NFL has been under intense criticism for its handling of domestic abuse cases involving its players.
