The ASPCA hopes its Hover Cat video will go viral and help animals get adopted in the process. (Source: aspca.org)
(RNN) – The ASPCA has created a clever viral-video response to the "Orvillecopter," a taxidermy cat-turned-helicopter by its grieving owner Dutchman Bart Jansen, which took the internet by storm in early June.
The video follows a day in the life of "Hover Cat," also known as George, the adopted cat of ABC's Good Morning America and Nightline anchor Dan Harris.
The cat begins his day bopping his head to Dub music (don't all cats?) and once his owner leaves the apartment – George goes airborne.
George spends several moments hovering mid-air in various positions, then takes a break to snack from his food bowl, only to catch major air while bouncing on a bed.
When Harris returns home, George pounces into his adoptive father's arms, anxious to be loved on after a hard day of "purrtying."
According to the ASPCA's website, "While the cuteness can't be ignored, neither can the video's ultimate message: Adopting a pet is awesome!"
Although the video isn't quite as enthralling as the Orvillecopter, George certainly has the cuteness-factor and dance moves that taxidermy-Orville lacked.
